This project is a visual deep dive into spaces of encounter between and betwixt bodies. The juxtaposed images serve to blur the line between human/non-human/object/agent/subject by searching for parallels in expression in unlikely spaces.

Figures 1 & 2. Stretch marks on a body (Denmark)/a break in poppy seeds on a well-risen loaf of sourdough bread (Hungary). While the former is a source of internalised shame for many people, the latter is a sign of success–what is the divide?

Figures 3 & 4. Bubbles collect at Swedish banks of the Torne River (Sweden/Finland)/high hydration sourdough starter (Denmark).

Figures 5 & 6. A piece of kelp washed up on Nouster Bay, North Ronaldsay (Scotland)/tattered plastic wedged between the stones of the Sheep Dyke, North Ronaldsay (Scotland).
